Remembrance Stone Ds. Rinze Douma

This stone in the General Cemetery commemorates Reverend Rinze Douma 1910-1945. Rinze Douma was active in the resistance and died in Bergen-Belsen after his arrest and stay in various concentration camps. The memorial bears the inscription:

'In memory of Rev Rinze Bouma, killed in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, March 1945.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness‘ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven’.
