War Memorial Pesche

The war memorial of Pesche commemorates the fighters of both world wars and the two fallen soldiers of the Second World War.

SIMON Maurice, born in Pesche on 24 January 1919.
He was a soldier with the 21st Genie 1st Comp. During retreat to Piringen in Zutendaal, attacked from the air by the German Luftwaffe and died on 10 May 1940.

LAMBERT Roger, born in Pesche on 18 September 1909.
He was a soldier with the 62nd Line 2nd Bat. 6th Comp. Died when their training unit was in a war cantonment in Belsele. It was considered safe there, but on 11 May 1940 the airfield was attacked twice by the German Luftwaffe. This resulted in a total of 7 dead and 14 wounded at the 62nd Line.
