Memorial Soldier WW2 Portsmouth

This memorial is dedicated to the Allied soldiers who fell during the Second World War and is stading outside the D-day museum in Portsmouth. The text on the memorial reads:

"A SOLDIER OF
WORLD WAR TWO

DECADES OF EASY PEACE MAY GO THEIR WAY
AND TIDE AND TIME MAY DRIFT US FAR APART
BUT YOU WHO SHARE OUR SAVAGE YESTERDAY
WILL HOLD THE HIGHEST PLACES IN OUR HEART.

THIS STATUE WAS ERECTED
FROM DONATIONS MADE BY
VETERANS, ORGANISATIONS, INDIVIDUALS
AND THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY.

UNVEILED
4th JUNE 1997
BY
