Memorial Church Foy

Next to the chapel entrance hangs a memorial with the following inscription:

Alden Todd and Frank Marchese, soldiers of the 502 PIR 101st Airborne, visited the ruins of the chapel at Foy. Alden found the altar bell, while Frank found the little Bible. To save them from the rubble, Alden and Frank took their precious souvenirs to their home, in USA.

On 16 December 1984, Alden returned the bell to the chapel in Foy. On 22 September 2024, Frank Marchese Jr. returned the Bible, his father had taken with him.

Thank you Alden,
Thank you Frank,
the people of Foy will always be grateful to you.
