Monument Saint Walburge

    Near the Saint-Walburge church in the Saint-Walburge district of Liège is the memorial to the fallen soldiers from this district.

    Initially, only the fallen of the 1st World War were commemorated. After the 2nd World War, panels were added on the left and right sides for the fallen in this war.

    Fallen in the 1st World War

    ALFANUS Octave, age 20, soldier in the 14th line regiment, died of wounds sustained by a bullet in his thigh on November 5, 1914 (4 days before his 21st birthday) at the kriegslazaret in Torhout.

    BERINGER Fernand, 23 years old, soldier in the 11th line regiment, killed in action at Wespelaar on September 12, 1914.

    BOELEN Ernest, 34 years old, sergeant with the 2nd artillery regiment, died of wounds sustained to the upper chest on March 17, 1917 in the military hospital at Hoogstade
