At the entrance to the Petite-Chapelle cemetery there is a memorial stone with the text:
"In honor of the African-American soldiers of the 37th American Regiment who liberated Petite-Chapelle with French troops during World War I."
This memorial plaque was inaugurated in 2018, in the presence of the American Ambassador and the Mayor of Couvin, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the liberation of Petite-Chapelle.
