Belgian War Graves Wetteren-Kwatrecht
The Kwatrecht cemetery contains two war graves from the Second World War.
Jozef DE POORTER, born in Wetteren on August 6, 1901, was cowardly killed by the Germans in Melle on September 2, 1944.
Michel DE POORTER, born in Wetteren on September 28, 1909, living as a teacher in Temse. He was a sergeant with the 32nd Line 1st Bat 1st Comp
He was killed in Kluizen on May 23, 1940 during attacks on positions on the Ghent-Terneuzen canal during German attempts to cross the canal. The 1st Battalion was lost.
