Peace Monument Groenpool Gentbrugge

In May 2013, a peace monument was erected on the edge of the Peace Forest in Gentbrugse Meersen.

It is built in a steel structure on which white wooden planking has been applied. The construction is twenty meters long, seven meters high and just under two meters wide.
It depicts a waving peace flag.
Visitors can climb it from the inside to the top to get a view over the Gentbrugse Meersen and the Vredesbos.

A path runs underneath with stepping stones on which the word "Peace" is written in all possible languages. The last stone in front of the monument contains a quote from M. Gandhi:
"There is no path to peace
Peace is the way"
