The Pridi Banomyong Memorial is a museum dedicated to one of Thailand's most prominent politicians, Pridi Banomyong. The site consists of two traditional Thai houses on the banks of the Khlong Muang in Ayutthaya's old city. The circular pond surrounding the houses is filled with fish and other water creatures that have been brought in from local rivers.
Follow in the footsteps of Thailand's senior statesman, Pridi Banomyong, the civilian leader who changed Thailand from an absolute monarchy to a democracy with the King as Head of State. As of which, the lifelong struggle for this major change in governance, although he had to stay abroad until the end of his life, the virtues that he created has been honored by UNESCO as one of the world's most important people in 1999. You can join the remembrance of the Thai statesman and the world's most important people at the memorial at Pridi Phanomyong’s birthplace which is located opposite Banomyong Temple, U Thong Road, which is the ancestral temple that was converted into a museum conveying the history of him at the 100 year old Thai house. The roof is an ancient Thai style, the lid of the lotus flower and the interior door has Thai and Chinese carvings. It is different from the former that is a raft house by the water. Inside, it displays the decorative items as well as various equipment that people in those days used in everyday life including photographs of Pridi which reveals life, work and major events that occurred throughout his life to be studied together.
