Crash Site Consolidated B-24H Liberator 42-95157

On the way back from an operation against Vechta airfield (Lower Saxony, Germany), the aircraft, B-24H Liberator 42-95157 of 466th BGp /786th BSqn USAAF, came into contact with about twenty Messerschmitt Bf 109Gs of the III. /JG 53 and II./JG 5. These two units were stationed at Sachau airfield in Germany.
