Belgian War Graves Lixhe

    Buried in the church cemetery at Lixhe are a number of soldiers, from Lixhe who fell during the 1st and 2nd World Wars.

    1914-1918

    DAS Noël, aged 34, from Lixhe, private of the 14th Line Regiment, died of the effects of probably Spanish flu in Bayonne (Fr) on October 15, 1918.

    COLLENS Jean, 32 years old, born and from Lixhe, soldier with x , died of the effects of gas poisoning* in the military hospital of Liege on February 20, 1919 ! 3 months after the armistice.

    PLIERS Henri, died in captivity on July 26, 1916, no further details known.

    1940-1945

    CONJAERTS Nicolas, 22 years old, from Lixhe, soldier of the 2nd Grenadier Regiment, killed on May 25, 1940 at Zomergem.

    D'HONT Marcel, age 22, from Lixhe, soldier with the 2nd Regiment Grenadiers, killed May 15, 1940 at Vissoul.

    ONCLIN Albert, 20 years old, from Lixhe, private of the 2nd Frontier Rifle Regiment, killed 18 May 1940 at Wolvertem.

    MAYERS Lambert, father, age 42, from Lixhe, civilian victim, executed May 22, 1940 at Aubigny-en-Artois (Pas-de-Calais, Fr.), by the German army in retaliation for the death of 2 German soldiers killed in an air raid.

    MAYERS Lambert, son, 16 years !, from Lixhe, civilian victim, executed 22 May 1940 at Aubigny-en-Artois (Pas-de-Calais, Fr.) by the German army in retaliation for the deaths of 2 German soldiers killed in an air raid.
