Memorial 3rd Lancers Brugge

On the grounds of the old monastery of the Carthusians, a barracks was built in the Langestraat. There is a memorial plaque on the facade that commemorates the 3rd Regiment of Lancers that was stationed there.

“ The 3rd Regiment of Lancers was housed here for 31 years,
and from here it advanced to the
World War of 1914-1918, on 3 August 1914,
under the command of Colonel A.E.M.Hagelmans.
111 of the men died for the Fatherland.”
