Memorial Marshal Ferdinand Foch Schaarbeek

In 1929, the Marshal Foch District Committee submitted a request to the Schaerbeek municipal authorities to erect a memorial plaque in his memory. It was a tribute to the French soldier Ferdinand Foch (1851-1929), who became supreme commander of the allied forces on the Western Front in 1918.

The memorial plaque was inaugurated in 1929. The bas-relief is the work of sculptor Sylvain Norga. It was placed on the building at Verboeckhovenplein 1, the side façade of which faces Marshal Fochlaan.
The municipality of Schaerbeek also named a lane after him
