Contrescarpe fort Lantin

The contrascarpe or defensive point guarding the fort's two tanktrenches. Photo 5 shows the contrascarpe viewed from the left trench.

Within the contrascarpe, in addition to the guns of 57 mm, which could fire 36 shots per minute, for defending the tanktrenches for close combat, a number of regular barracks rooms were included. There was a rooms for the guard, for other services such as the bakery, kitchens, washrooms, sanitary facilities and food warehouses.

The contrascarpe consisted of two floors.
