Kleine Broger Air Museum

This museum housed in an old staff building and shed of the Kleine-Brogel airbase tells the history of the airfield and the units that have used and still use it today.

The story of the airfield begins on 15 December 1944 with the construction of a temporary airstrip for the RAF by the 16th Airfield Construction Group, Royal Engineers of the British Army. The airfield, codenamed B (British) 90, is commissioned on 1 March 1945 by 127th Wing of the RCAF and later by the 39th Recce Wing also of the RCAF. Both wings move to Eindhoven and Rheine respectively in late March and early April 1945, and in October that year the buildings and installations are transferred to Belgium. In the early 1950s, the base is again put into use by the Belgian Air Force, which then still flies Spitfires, soon to be replaced by the first jet aircraft.

In the museum, various aircraft (including F84, F104 Starfighter, F16), vehicles, weapons, uniforms, etc. illustrate this history from the early days to today's F-16. It also houses a private collection of other aviation objects,

The official name of the airbase today is Major General Aviation Count Ivan du Monceau de Bergendal base. The museum has limited opening hours and visitors must report to the base's guardhouse.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
