The fortress of Boncelles is almost completely overgrown. This turret bunker can still be recognized among the undergrowth because of its round shape.
The central massif of Fort Boncelles had on both sides located at the entrance to the fort two of these turret bunkers topped by a turret with a 120 mm cannon.
Because the fort was dismantled after the war, the turrets and all other iron from the fort were sold as scrap metal. The fort now serves as a nature preserve area.
