Rembrance Hall Emsland Camps Esterwegen

This open memorial hall in the former cemetery of one of the Emstland camps, Esterwegen was established in 1981. The covered but otherwise open space contains plaques bearing the names of the 15 Emsland camps and an information board. The last sentence on this board reads, ‘We commemorate all prisoners who suffered with horror and sorrow in the Emsland camps.’
