The Artillery Work Reuenthal is located on the north side of the village of Reuenthal AG (Municipality Full / Reuenthal), on a hill above the Rhine, between Koblenz and Leibstadt, opposite the German town of Waldshut.

It was built in the spring of 1937 to April 1939 and immediately transferred to the military. With its 7.5 cm guns as main armament, the task at war was to prevent a crossing over the Rhine from Germany near the Albbruck-Dogern dam.The acquisition was permanently occupied in the period from 1939 to 1945 with Troops Although the fortress was built to house 90 soldiers, it was occupied by about 150 soldiers until June 1944.

In 1979 the fortress was divested in defense and transferred to the municipality of Full-Reuenthal. The Festungsmuseum Reuenthal association was able to take over the fortress and restored it to its original condition, including the 7.5 cm guns. In the various rooms of the fortress, not only pieces of equipment and weapons of the Swiss army but also of foreign forces from the time between the 1st and 2nd world war and special objects can be found in almost other museums.
