Memorial Lancaster JB409

The monument is ereceted for the crew of the Lancaster III (serial JB409, 626 Squadron). The plane crashed on May 12, 1944 around 03.00 a.m. near the Noorddijk at the village Krabbendijke (Reimerswaal). All 7 crew members lost their lives.

The inscription on the monument reads:
Died for our liberation on May 11, 1944
