German War Cemetery Martuk

In Kazakhstan, there were 86 cemeteries where deceased prisoners-of-war from World War II were buried. Of these, only 12 cemeteries remained. Seven are maintained by the German War Grave Commission: Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge.

Martuk war cemetery contains 512 graves. A part of the cemetery is re-used as civilian cemetery. The shape of the old war cemetery is made visible by poles.
