Memorial POW-camp Stammlager VI D

On the terrain of the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund was, from 1939 to March 1945, a prisoners-of-war camp, Stammlager VI D. Until 1941, in the hall itself, later also in barracks on the surrounding terrain. Over 70,000 prisoners-of-war were imprisoned here in World War II. Several thousands died due to the bad conditions and Allied bombardments.
