Memorial Camp Schandelah

Camp Schandelah was a satellite camp of Neuengamme concentration camp and existed from 8 Mey 1944 to 12 April 1945. The camp was part of a group of seven camps of which the inmates had to work in mines for the production of synthetic fuel. There were about 15,000 inmates in the camps. Of them, 3500-4000 died. In Schandelah camp, about 200 inmates died.

Next to the memorial there are also some remains of the camp.
