Polish Cross Axel

The Polish Cross is surrounded by a wall with a small fence.
The base of the cross contains text that is almost unreadable.
On the surrounding walls are plaques placed with the same, but readable text.

Left of the hash reads the text on the plaque:

Right from fence the plaque reads the text:
At the memory of

Interpreter 10th Regiment Dragonders
Born: 22-01-1922
Watermael Boitsfort Belgium
Killed near the channel
Axel - Hulst on 17-09-1944

The monument was designed by Polish soldiers and unveiled on September 19, 1945.
