Maginot Line - Ouvrage Col du Granon

The small Col du Granon ouvrage was only built in 1939 and was not finished. It is part of the Secteur Fortifié de Dauphiné. From April 1939 it was occupied by units of the 82nd BAF. Due to the severe winter, there was a complement of only 20 men and one battle group in early 1940. In June 1940 the ouvrage was sporadically shelled by the Italian Chaberton battery. There was no further battle.
