Dutch War Graves Terneuzen

On Terneuzen General Cemetery is the memorial 'Monument voor Rijkswaterstaatsambtenaren'.

The Terneuzen General Cemetery contains the 'Monument to Rijkswaterstaatsambtenaren'.

This is a collective grave for five civil servants of Rijkswaterstaat who were shot dead on 5 September 1944 (Dolle Dinsdag) after they tried to remove German explosive charges from the Westsluis in Terneuzen.

The names of the officials concerned are:
P. T. Hoolsema;
M. Groenewegen;
I. de Bert;
M. Nieuwenhuize;
S. P. C. Verbrugge.
