The Jewish Museum tells the history of Jews in the Netherlands from the 17th century to the present. Naturally, this includes the persecution and exclusion of the Jews during World War II.
The museum's collection consists of more than 13,000 artifacts, ceremonial and historical objects. A small part of this collection is on display in the museum, and many objects are also used for exhibitions. Much of this consists of Jewish property looted by the Germans. These properties were brought back to the Netherlands from Germany via the American Central Collecting Point in 1946. Starting in 1955, some of this is on display at the museum. The entire collection can be viewed on the museum's website.
