This memorial commemorates the residents of Kilkeel who were killed or missing in World War I and World War II and the conflict in Northern Ireland.
Many of these memorials were erected after the First World War. After the Second World War, the names of those who died in that war were also added to the memorial.
A plaque attached to the memorial commemorates Robert Scott who was awarded the Victoria Cross for an action on 6 June 1900 at Ladysmith in the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902).
