During the 1930's, the Rev. Ronald Selby Wright, minister of the Canongate church in Edinburgh, ran a boys club for the deprived boys of the neighbourhood. He regularly brought them here camping, which was an opportunity for them to experience nature, life in the country and at the seaside.
This memorial commemorates six of those boys, killed while serving in the forces during World War II.
