War Memorial Stamford

This memorial commemorates the residents of Stamford who were killed or missing in World War I (253 names), World War II (76 names) and Malayan Emergency (1948-1960, 1 name)

Many of these memorials were erected after the First World War. After the Second World War, the names of those who died in that war were also added to the memorial.

In 2002 protective Memorial Gates were added bearing the words 'For your tomorrow, we gave our today'
Memorial benches were added dedicated to the Royal British Legion, Royal Naval Association, Royal Air Force Association, and Royal Lincolnshire regiment in 2007 along with mosaics in the pavement to those same units as well as the Ist Independent Polish Parachute brigade who had been based in Stamford prior to Operation Market-Garden.
Between 2014-18 a plaque was added to the gate detailing the 62 Battle Honours of the Lincolnshire Regiment.
