Memorial Aircraft Crashes

During World War II, , Lower Lough Erne was a flying boat base. This memorial commemorates two crashes: Sunderland W4036 of 201 Squadron RAF sank in Lough Erne on 18 November 1943 with three crewmembers killed and Catalina JX242 of 202 Squadron Killadeas which crashed at Lough an Laban on 20 November 1944 with eight crewmembers killed.
