Fort Saint Michael
This old fortress was built between 1551 and 1565 by the Knights of Malta. Fort Saint Michael was largely dismantled during extensions to the dockyard area at the end of the 19th century and the remainder was badly damaged by German aerial bombing during the Second World War.
