In the cemetery near the church in Perwez are eight Commonwealth War Graves from World War II.
There lies the grave of Flight Lieutenant (Pilot), John Lewis Sullivan, 37643.
On May 14, 1940 Sullivan was shot down in Hurricane P2621 over Belgium by German fighter Oberleutnant Hans Hahn "Assi". The aircraft crashed near Perwez. John Lewis Sullivan is shown on photo 5.
The other seven victims all died on March 15, 1945.

On March 15, 1945 departed at 1621 from Croft airfield, the Lancaster KB815 with a bombing mission over the city of Hagen in Germany. The aircraft crashed for unknown reasons in Perwez. In the crash, all crew members were killed, they are all buried in this cemetery.
