Memorial Hurricane Z5204

This memorial is in memory of the killed pilot of a Hurricane fighter that crashed here on 23 October 1941. The text on the memorial reads:

"In memory of Sgt Pilot W.B.D.Gilmour 504 SQDN who died on Thursday 23:10:1941 aged 20 years when his Ballyhalbert based Hurricane Z5204 crashed near this spot beside Coyles Cottage on his grandmother Kyles Farm. Still fondly remembered in and around Knockmoyle"
