The Liveramentu Memorial Tablets commemorates 345 Commonwealth servicemen who died in Sri Lanka during the Second World War, whose graves could not be found or, if found, could neither be permanently maintained. The following words can be read on the memorial:
"1939 - 1945 THE OFFICERS AND MEN WHOSE MEMORY IS HONOURED HERE DIED IN THE SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY AND LIE BURIED ELSEWHERE IN SRI LANKA"
