The war memorial of Westbroek, municipality of De Bilt, commemorates 19 residents who died in World War II and one resident, who was killed during the Indonesian War of Independence in the Dutch East Indies.
The names on the left plaque are:
J.B. Lenssinck, and J. v.d. Tol, killed on 14-01-1945 during a raid in Westbroek
T. v. Keulen, C. Smaling and J.G. Oudhof, all killed on 05-05-1945 as civilian victims during armed conflict with the occupying forces.
The middle plaque bears the following names:
T.O. Oudhof,, executed on 27-09-1944 in Utrecht
T. v. Barneveld,, died on 23-11-1944 in Kdo. Husum-Schwesing, Neuengamme.
G. de Rooij,, died on 08-03-1945 in Bergen-Belsen
H. Seldenrijk,, died on 30-11-1944 at Kdo. Husum-Schwesing, Neuengamme.
H.C. Manten, E.H. Jaarsma, W. de Kruijff, M. v.d. Boom, L. v. Dam, M. Bouma, all perished on 05-05-1945 as a resistance fighter/member of the NBS during an armed conflict with the occupying forces.
W.G. Verheul,, killed on 08-01-1949 in Kediri, Dutch East Indies.
On the right-hand plaque are the following names:
E. Klein, died on 15-4-1945 due to illness in Wilhelminenspital (Austria) after being caught in a raid.
J. Bolander, died by accident on 4-4-1945 in Neubrandburg (Germany) after being rounded up for labour recruitment.
J.C. Hildebrand, died on 29-3-1945 from illness in Frankfurt (Germany) after being rounded up in a raid for labour recruitment.
J.B. Atteveld, died of typhus in Russian captivity in Kaunas (Lithuania) on 19-1-1946.
