The war memorial in Bilthoven commemorates 11 resistance fighters who died in the Second World War.
The monument is located in front of the town hall of De Bilt. The text on the front reads:

In front of the monument is a plaque with the text:
AT THIS MONOMENT ANNUALLY ALL
COMMEMORATED THOSE IN THE KINGDOM OF THE NETHERLANDS OR
ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IN WAR SITUATIONS AND AT
PEACE OPERATIONS CAME DOWN.
BECAUSE OF THE SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE COMMEMORATION OF THE
VICTIMS IN ASIA THAT TAKE PLACE HERE ANNUALLY, THE EARTH IS UNDER
THIS MONUMENT MIXED WITH SOIL FROM THE KALIBANTENG CERENCE FIELD IN JAVA.

The above resistance fighters were captured and transferred to a requisitioned monastery in Maastricht. There they were transferred to Sachsenhausen and executed on 11 May 1942. See also the memorial stones in Maastricht.
