War Casualties Memorial Ameide

The memorial in Ameide (municipality of Vijfheerenlanden) commemorates 20 victims of the Second World War. Their names are listed on two plaques.

On plaque 1 are the following names:
Jan Thomas van Kekem, military soldier. 3-22-G.B., killed 10-05-1940 Didam, buried in the Grebbeberg cemetery.
Jacob Meijer, murdered 14-05-1943, Sobibor
Anna Meijer-Wolf, murdered 14-05-1943, Sobibor
Gerrit Roodhorst (1912), died and buried in Mobile, Alabama (USA)
Aart van der Zouwen, forced labour, see Civilian victims' graves
Jan Willem van Putte, GP, see Civilian victims' graves
Willem de Bie, conductor Rederij op de Lek, see Civilian victims' graves
Johannes van Middelkoop, soldier KNIL, prisoner of war died 21-09-1944 during transport, a/b Hofuku Maru
Christiaan van Bruggen, forced labour, died 01-01-1945 in Duisburg, buried in Oberbilk war cemetery, Düsseldorf.
Gerrit Roodhorst (1906), resistance, died 23-04-1945 in Roding (D)

Cor Daniël de Langen, soldier, sold.3-III-4 R.I., killed in action 10-05-1940 Valkenburg (ZH), buried in Meerkerk.
Juda Meijer, murdered 30-09-1942, Auschwitz
Jetje Kaufman-Meijer, murdered 19-10-1942, Auschwitz
Hanna Campignon-Meijer, murdered 26-10-1942, Auschwitz
David Beijerinck, died 28-06-1943, Batavia hospital.
Alida Viool-Meijer, murdered 19-11-1943, Auschwitz
Jacob Kodde, Chief Inspector of Police, died 14-07-1944 Tjimahi, buried cemetery Leuwigajah
Johannes Hendrik Mattheus van Bonzel, missionary and teacher, died 11-12-1944 Bodjo, Japanese civilian camp, buried cemetery Kalibanteng.
