Polish Casemate "Jan Bołbott Bunker" Tynne

This severe damaged casemate was part of the eastern border defence line of the Polish Republic. This defence line saw saw heavy combat between 17 and 21 September 1939 and was defended by Polish soldiers of the 'Sarny' Battalion against the Red Army. Hundreds were killed in the battle and many more went missing. The Polish Lieutenant Jan Bołbott was killed in this casemate on 20 September 1939.
