Frauenkirche Dresden

The ruins of the Frauenkirche in Dresden was for almost 50 years (from 1945 until 1992) the memorial to commemorate the bombardment of Dresden. After the reuniting of Western and Eastern Germany the church was rebuild, this was finished in 2005.

The dark parts of the walls are original stones of the destroyed church. On the second picture (situation in 2004) a large part is recognizable.

To this day every year commemoration of the bombardment takes place at the church by residents of Dresden. It takes place on the date of the bombardment, the 13th of February in the evening.
