Fort Erfprins was built in the 19th century.
In 1914-1918 and in 1939-1940 the fort was mobilized.
During the German occupation (1940-1945), it was transformed into Marine Flakbatterie Erfprinz (W.N. 111 M.), as part of the Atlantic Wall, armed with 4 x 10,5 cm S.K. C/32. After the war, fort Erfprins was used as internment camp for collaborators.

Most of the German defence works are still present at the fort.
