Kronstadt Fortress - Fort "Shanets"

This fort was built in the 18th century and further modernised in the years -1856, 1863 and 1898-1913. In the '30s, the fort lost its military importance and its guns were stripped. It was fully operation again during the Siege of Leningrad (1941-1944).

The fort today:
It is currently abandoned and can be visited.
