Crashlocation and Memorial Lancaster KB728

KB 728, VR-V, was a No. 419 Squadron Lancaster. It exploded in mid- air, following a combat with a night-fighter and crashed 01:30 hrs 17June 1944 alongside the Huissensedijk and close to the Dutch Reformed Church at Elden. The complete crew, Flying Officer Arnold Freeman Hupman (Navigator), Pilot Officer Harold Fletcher (Wireless Operator), Pilot Officer Clifford Stanley Johnston (Rear gunner), Flying Officer Donald Morrison (pilot), Pilot Officer Edward Fahey (Flight Engineer), Flight Sergeant Gerald Edgar Quinn (Bomb aimer), Pilot Officer Philip Joseph McManus (Gunner) en Pilot Officer Clifford Stanley Johnston (Gunner), was killed in the event.

De text on the plaque is:
ON JUNE THE 17TH 1944 A LANCASTER BOMBER OF THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIRFORCE CRASHED. DE ENTIRE CREW WAS KILLED:
