The municipal cemetery in Tielt contains the graves of Belgian military and civilian victims of both world wars.
There are war graves of the First World War and graves of Belgian soldiers who fell during the Battle for Belgium (10 may - 28 may 1940) in the Second World War.
There are graves of killed resistance fighters and political prisoners of the Second World War.
The cemetery also contains the graves of civilian victims of the Second World War. Most civilians were victims of aerial bombardments. There is a monument to these victims
