Oostelbeers Roman Catholic Churchyard contains the graves of seven Commonwealth airmen of the Second World War who died on Christmas Eve 1944.
On December 24th 1944 departed at 1450 from Binbrook base in England, the Avro Lancaster PB255 with on board a crew of six Australian airmen and onze English airman. Their mission was a raid over the city of Cologne in Germany. On the way, the Lancaster was hit by enemy-fire by German fighters over Limburg, the pilot tried to return to England but crashed in Oostelbeers.
