This memorial commemorates the residents of Kelso who were killed or missing in World War I (92 names) and World War II (42 names).
Many of these memorials were erected after the First World War. After the Second World War, the names of those who died in that war were also added to the memorial.
A plaque attached to the war memoria commemorates Sergeant Donald D. Farmer VC (1877-1956), who was warded the Victoria Cross in the South-African War (2nd Boer War), on 13 December 1900.
