Memorial Handley Page Halifax Mk II DT774

On the night of March 12-13, 1943, the crew of the British Halifax bomber DT774 perished here.
The plane of the 78 Sqn RAF was shot down by Oblt. Manfred Meurer of the 3./NJG 1, flying a Bf 110 from the airport of Venlo.
The operation was a bombing raid on the Krupp factory in Essen, Germany.
