Ronse Old Cemetery contains the grave of 2LT Gilbert A. Malrait, born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, USA. His father was Belgian, his mother British. He stayed for several years in Ronse but returned to the USA just before World War II. He died when his B-24 Liberator crashed on 4 April 1944 in Rumania. After the war, he was buried as unknown on the American Cemetery Neuville-en-Condroz. After being identified, it was allowed that he was buried in Ronse.
Ronse Old Cemetery contains 18 Commonwealth war graves from World War II, of which one is unidentified and two from World War I.
