British Bofor 40mm AA-gun Askyfou

This British Bofor 40mm anti aircraft gun would be left behind during the evacuation by Allied troops from Sfakia on 31. May 1941.

Much of the Bofors anti-aircraft artillery dates from after 1941, so it was most likely “donated” to the Greek armed forces after the war and subsequently placed here and there to “adorn” prominent locations.
