Commonwealth War Graves Webbekom

Webbekom Churchyard contains the graves of 7 crewmembers of Lancaster III JA976 "S for Sugar" which crashed in Webbekom on 28 April 1944. Six died in the crash, the seventh died in 1 May 1944. The pilot survived and was helped by the resistance. He was captured in a razzia and died in Neuengamme on 23 January 1945. He is buried on the field of honour in Meensel-Kiezegem.
