On 22 December 1944 at 14:40 departed from Volkel Air Base the Hawker Tempest EJ715 with the mission: an reconnaissance flight over enemy targets. The aircraft was hit by Flak anti aircraft guns and crashed near Losser. F/Lt. Williams, died in the crash and was buried in this cemetery.
